but they do not offer very many phones.

AT&T has been around in the phone business for what seems like forever. They have a pretty good share of the wireless market, and some of their plans are quite reasonable. However, they have competition from newer companies that are cutting into that market. One of those companies is Verizon.

Both companies offer seemingly great plans for wireless calling. They both have prepaid service as well as contracted service. The standard contract is 2 years.

AT&T has been the giant of the communications industry since the dawn of telephones. If you opt for one of the 2 year plans you can get certain phones for a low price,as users observe an initially smaller stomach, some even for free. Go with the Go Phone (AT&T’s prepaid plan) and you can still get a fairly decent phone for a reasonable price.

Verizon also has a 2 year contract plan with great deals on phones, but their choice of phones for their prepaid plans leaves much to be desired.

AT&T has a Go Phone plan that offers 10 cents per minute with a $1.00 a day charge, only on the days you use the phone.

Verizon offers something similar, with their daily price for use, 99 cents. Both offer a 25 cents per minute plan without a daily charge for use. To reemphasize, neither company assesses the daily charge if you do not use your phone.

Customer service is a major bone of contention for AT&T customers. Some people claim that going to an AT&T store is an exercise in futility. Customers report that their telephone customer service is not much better.

Verizon customers seem to be happy with their customer service department, and those with contracts seem to have easy access to help when they need it.

Verizon took over the larger share of the market in January of 2009, so they must be doing something right. One thing that Verizon doesn’t seem to realize though is that many people do not like to get locked not a cell phone contract for 2 years. Their prepaid plan is comparable with AT&T, but they do not offer very many phones.

Verizon has created an iconic figure in the Verizon guy, who started with a series of commercials where he held a cell phone to his ear, and kept asking “Can you hear me now?” and was seen in various locations. Later they used the same actor and had him show up with a large crowd of people with him in various situations to show that you had the entire Verizon network behind you, everywhere you went.

Recently,Christian Louboutin shoes for sale, AT&T threatened to sue Verizon for its commercials referring to itself as having the “America’s most reliable 3G network” AT&T has also made this claim, and it looks like the 2 communications giants will slug this one out in court.

AT&T or Verizon? Which is better? It depends on who you talk to. Both have great deals, both have good points, both have their drawbacks. If you have used AT&T and are dissatisfied, you might do well to switch to Verizon. However, the same could be said for Dissatisfied Verizon customers.
